During the webinar, Marijana Serdar shared her experience with lump sum funding and the implementation of Twinning actions, drawing on her role in coordinating the ASCCENT project. Her contribution provided practical insights into the opportunities and challenges associated with this funding model, including project implementation, coordination and financial management within the Horizon Europe framework.
The event brought together representatives of research institutions and other stakeholders involved in European research and innovation projects. The webinar sessions focused on the implementation and management of lump sum funding, offering participants an opportunity to exchange experiences, discuss practical aspects of project administration and learn about approaches to effective project management. Members of the UNIZG-FCE team Viktor Kolčić, Matea Flegar Pregernik and Vanja Gilja also participated in the webinar sessions, further strengthening the team’s knowledge of Horizon Europe funding procedures and project-management practices.
Sharing experiences from ongoing projects is particularly valuable for institutions preparing and implementing European collaborative research initiatives. By contributing to this national information event, the ASCCENT team supported the wider exchange of knowledge and good practices among the research community, helping other institutions better understand the practical aspects of lump sum funding and Twinning actions. This participation also reflects ASCCENT’s broader commitment to knowledge transfer and capacity building, extending beyond scientific research to include effective research management and the development of institutional expertise in European cooperation.
