For the sixth year in a row, Aalborg University is the best engineering university in Europe. According to the prestigious ‘Best Global Universities’ ranking AAU still ranks number one in Europe and 11th in the world in engineering. At AAU, Prof. Massimo Pizzol is an internationally recognized expert in the domain of Industrial Ecology and Sustainability Science, specialized in advanced LCA modelling across a wide range of sectors and technological domains including carbon capture and use and storage. Assist. Prof. Agneta Ghose has extensive experience in LCA and specifically specializes in data management for LCA and LCA in the building sector.

They are affiliated to the Department for Sustainability and Planning that includes about 200 staff with expertise ranging from environmental science and engineering to economics and sociology, and to the recent cross-department TECH Centre for Circular Economy focusing on circular economy research. Together, they have extensive experience in teaching LCA using the PBL- Problem-based learning method to a variety of audiences (Bachelor, Master, PhDs, professionals) and modes (online and onsite, flipped classroom, work group, supervision).

Both have experience in organizing Summer Schools and PhD courses like the recent Summer School in “Applied Circular Economy” and the PhD course in “Advanced LCA” which has been running for more than 15 years with 25 participants yearly. In ASCCENT AAU leads WP3.

There are 5 partners involved in the project covering the whole addressed value chain. Four of them are RTO, and one is an industry member. All ASCCENT partners have previously participated in EU projects, EU and global platformsand networks that will be used to gain additional information and dissemination benefits.
